Samyang has introduced its first premium lens range, unveiling the 85mm f/1.2 and 14mm f/2.4 lenses ahead of Photokina 2016.
The new Samyang lenses are designed for use with 50-megapixel cameras and up to 8K video productions, the company says, with the 85mm f/1.2 claiming the title of brightest optic among existing full-frame DSLR lenses.
The Samyang 85mm f/1.2 consists of 10 elements in seven groups, which employs one aspherical lens and two high refractive lenses. The high refractive lenses are designed to adjust the path of light into the camera and deliver the maximum amount possible to the sensor.

The Samyang 14mm f/2.4, on the other hand, is comprised of 18 glasses in 14 groups, including two aspherical lenses, one hybrid aspherical lens, two extra-low dispersion lenses and one high refractive lens.
The Samyang 14mm is also built of aluminium alloy metal and boasts a diameter of 93-95mm.
Price information wasn’t available at the time of writing, and Samyang says both new lenses will be available later this year.
