Samyang has announced its first ever zoom lens, the AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE designed for use with Sony E-mount cameras.

Samyang’s new all-in-one zoom lens is designed for stills and recording video. It’s comprised of 17 elements in 14 groups, of which there are two aspherical, one H-ASP, three HR and three ED elements.

The large aperture and nine-blade aperture promise smooth background blur, and its minimum focal distance of just 35cm means you can get very close to your subjects and shoot from a variety of perspectives.

Among the key features of the Samyang AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE are Cinematic Video AF, which helps reduce focus wobble when filming video, and a Linear MF Focus Control. This aims to match the torque of the focus ring to that of a manual focus lens when shooting video in manual mode.

A Par-Focal function helps you maintain focus on your subject when the Samyang AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE is zooming in and out.

There is also custom switch on the lens barrel of the AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE which allows you to adjust the aperture by rotating he focus ring. The Samyang AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE has also been weather-sealed for use in light rain and snow.

The Samyang AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE price tag will be £690.
