Samsung announces Pro Plus and Enhanced Evo Plus microSD Cards

Keeping up with the latest demands on storage, Samsung has just announced updates to their next-generation of microSD cards, the PRO Plus and EVO Plus.

The new EVO Plus card is aimed at the general consumer market and provides the transfer speeds required to keep up with the video, photography and data demands of the latest smartphones.

The new enhanced Pro Plus cards are aimed at professionals who require big storage and high end transfer speeds that will keep up with the next generation of action cameras and drones.

Each of these new lines will be available in various capacity options, with the PRO Plus available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities and will offer to write speeds of up to 160MB/s and 120MB/s.

The EVO Plus will be available in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB and will offer transfer speeds of up to 130MB/s.
Both lines have been created to cope with the demands of both consumers and professionals and feature improved six-proof protection.

The protection is boosted by two layers over the previous generation. This increase makes these microSD cards more resilient to withstanding water, extreme temperatures, x-ray, wear out, drops and magnetic impact.

Both ranges of cards will be offered with a ten-year limited warranty from Samsung.
“Professionals and consumers of all kinds want memory cards that make it easy to save and retrieve data while also knowing that their valuable images and video files are protected,” said KyuYoung Lee, vice president of the Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung’s new suite of microSD cards offer the features and capabilities consumers and professionals need: faster speeds along with increased reliability and durability to deliver the ultra-high performance every user wants.”
The cards will be available in early October, and an SD card adapter will be supplied with every purchase.
