The Ricoh R Development Kit – price tag $499 – is now shipping and available for purchase.
The R Development Kit launched for pre-orders in May but was first introduced by Ricoh at the Consumer Electronics Show in January earlier this year.
The Ricoh R Development Kit is the company’s latest venture into VR and can output 360-deee video in 2K resolution at 30fps. It can even lifestream up to 24 hours of continuous footage if connected to an AC adapter, Ricoh says.
The R Development Kit employs real-time stitching and can output video via HDMI or USB. It also records on to microSD cards.
The kit includes a camera stand and source code to encourage others to develop companion apps for it.
