Ricoh has announced the Theta Z1 51GB, price tag $1,049.95, the latest addition to its Theta range of 360 cameras.
Ricoh’s new flagship Theta Z1 51GB increases the internal storage capacity from 19GB in the previous model to 51 gigabytes and also provides internal stitching of its spherical images, meaning no post-production is required.
As well as stills, the Ricoh Theta Z1 51GB can record 4K 360 videos and incorporates 3-axis rotational stabilisation.
Inside the Theta Z1 51GB is a 1-inch 23-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, and Ricoh says it has enhanced the camera’s image processing algorithm to provide better dynamic range and low noise.
A multi-level aperture mechanism lets users set the F stop at f/2.1, f/3.5 or f/5.6., and a 0.93-inch OLED monitor displays your camera settings on the Theta’s body.
The Ricoh Theta Z1 51GB price tag is $1,049.95, with a release date set for May 2021. You can find the Ricoh Theta Z1 on Amazon UK and Amazon US.
Why not increase the sensor? 4K is so far behind today’s standards.
