The Mobile Pixels Glance is a portable monitor designed to extend your laptop’s display, it’s compact size and weight offer convenience and versatility for photographers on the move. 

The monitor has two options for power, either through your computers USB Type-C or the mains with the plug and adapter supplied. If you have access to external power sources like a Bluetti power station, the monitor can serve as a large, easily adjustable external display for your camera. Compared to traditional desktop monitors or laptops, the Mobile Pixels Glance allows for easier positioning and movement, making it a valuable addition to any photographer’s toolkit.

The monitor’s full HD display provides vibrant colours and crisp visuals, enhancing your photography experience. Additionally, the landscape/portrait mode ensures you can view your images in the orientation that best suits your needs. 

The HDMI and USB Type-C ports ensure compatibility with a wide range of devices, allowing you to connect the monitor to cameras, laptops, editing consoles, and more.

With its 60 Hertz refresh rate, 1920 x 1080 resolution, and 16:9 aspect ratio, the Mobile Pixels Glance delivers smooth performance and a visually appealing experience.

The small stand fold-down stand is a well-designed addition, making it easy to fit the monitor in tight spaces. The HDMI port enables direct connection to a camera, which is useful for a large live-view display during demonstrations. However, it’s important to note that it’s not designed for precise exposure and colour accuracy just as a handy aid and it will require external power in this instance to work.

While the monitor’s colour space doesn’t cover Adobe RGB or P3, it still offers good colour representation, making it a valuable addition due to its convenience and discreet portability. The plug-and-play functionality simplifies the setup process, and the hybrid-signal solution ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices. As a photography tool, its pretty handy to have around both as an extension to your desktop and as a large visual aid when on photoshoots with others.

The Mobile Pixels Glance portable monitor is a worthwhile investment for photographers seeking a secondary display for multitasking purposes. While it doesn’t provide Adobe RGB or P3 colour profiles, its portability, compatibility, and convenience are undeniable useful.

One downside is that plugging the monitor directly into your laptop’s USB Type-C port may drain your laptop’s battery. However, during our testing with a MacBook Pro 16-inch M1, we found that the laptop maintained power for a good three hours of photo editing and writing.

If the monitor could eventually support Adobe RGB or P3 colour profiles, it would become an essential photography tool. The Mobile Pixels Glance is a fantastic second monitor for web browsing, emails, documents, and tool palettes.
