Our Verdict

Over the past year, I’ve checked out several new ultra-compact wireless microphone systems, and while many were small, none were as tiny and lightweight as the Godox MoveLink Mini 2.4GHz.

What’s great about this system is that it has been made super simple to use. There’s no confusing display screen, just a single power button that lets you switch between different features and settings.

The transmitter microphones are just microphones no extra plug-ins or expansions. The receiver has a socket for an adapter, but that’s it – everything is kept straightforward and easy to understand.

This simplicity makes the Godox MoveLink Mini a no-brainer choice. Its lightweight design means it can even be clipped onto lightweight clothing, which other heavier models can’t do.
While there may not be a lot of room for expansion with these units, their simplicity is attractive, and the audio quality is excellent. This is a great option for you if you want good audio without any fuss.

What is the Godox MoveLink Mini 2.4GHz?

Do you want to upgrade the sound quality of your videos without getting into complicated audio production stuff? The Godox MoveLink Mini 2.4GHz is the answer for you! These tiny and lightweight units are super easy to use, and the fact that the case doubles as a portable charging station means that you’ll always be ready to go straight out of the box.

Although the kit is simple, it’s a step up from using a single wired lavalier microphone directly into your camera. The kit comes with two microphones, so if you want to record interviews, you can clip a mic onto each person you want to record, and you’re good to go.

The transmitter is also simple, with three small adapters that let you plug the receiver directly into your iPhone or a TRS or TRRS port.

As far as adjustments go, there’s not much to do. The power button on the units doubles as a multifunction button that gives you access to the rest of the wireless system’s controls, but those controls are kept to a minimum. The transmitters can mute and denoise, and the receiver can adjust the input volume, and that’s it.

This wireless microphone kit has been designed with simplicity in mind. Just plug it in and play, with a few basic functions that suit many creators who don’t want to get into the technicalities.
This simplicity also has a big advantage over similar products. The Godox MoveLink Mini 2.4GHz is incredibly slim and lightweight; unlike other clip-on wireless mics that might weigh down lighter clothing, these will cause little to no material weight.

Performance

The Godox MoveLink Mini 2.4GHz is all about ease of use. To get started, open the charging case, hit the pair button if the units aren’t already paired, take out the receiver, choose the adapter you want (in this review, the TRS) and plug it into the audio port on your camera. Then grab the two transmitter microphones, attach them to your subjects, check the levels, and you’re all set!

If one of your subjects is louder than the other, just move their microphone further away. There’s no individual microphone audio volume input adjustment. If both microphones sound quiet, you can quickly increase the input volume by pressing the button a few times. All other volume settings can be adjusted in the camera as usual.

On the transmitter microphones, you have a similar process to access the extra options. A short press will mute the microphone, or two short presses will activate the denoise mode.

Out of all the wireless microphone systems I’ve looked at, this one is by far the simplest. However, it won’t meet the needs of users who want many audio options. But for content creators who want a quick and easy way to record professional-sounding audio, this microphone system is perfect.

Not only is it compact and lightweight, but it’s also incredibly easy to use. The small socket adapters let you use the receiver with different devices, and the charging case even has space for them so that you won’t lose them.

When it comes to usability, you really can’t go wrong with the Godox MoveLink Mini 2.4GHz. There’s nothing complicated about it, so there’s nothing to confuse you. The microphone pickups are surprisingly good, too. Godox has chosen pickups that will meet the quality needs of most content creators, but pro and semi-pro users may find the audio depth and tone to be a bit lighter than with other units.

Final Thoughts

If you’re in the market for wireless microphones for your content creation and don’t want to deal with complex options and settings, the Godox MoveLink Mini 2.4GHz is a perfect choice.

These microphones are small, lightweight, and extremely easy to use with a streamlined design. The ability to quickly attach an adapter to your desired device makes it even more convenient. Additionally, the small size adds minimal weight to your clothing, making it comfortable to wear.

The audio quality is good and improves the audio from your mobile device or camera. The price is also very attractive. However, remember that these wireless microphones are designed to be simple, so limited adjustments are available. There’s no on-device monitoring of audio quality and levels.
