SWIT has introduced the MINO-A series, a pair of compact Gold Mount batteries designed to power cinema cameras, lights and monitors without the bulk of a traditional brick. The range is led by the 210Wh MINO-A210, which supports a constant load of over 200W, and is joined by the smaller 140Wh MINO-A140.
Power in a smaller package
Both batteries share the same 105 x 79.6mm footprint, with the extra capacity of the MINO-A210 coming from added depth. The larger battery weighs 1.056kg and the MINO-A140 747g.
Charging is quick, with the MINO-A210 supporting 100W fast charging and the MINO-A140 50W. Both can also be charged through their D-tap port, which handles 120W in either direction, or through USB-C PD at up to 48W. That USB-C port also outputs up to 65W, enough to run a laptop, phone or USB-powered light, and there is a 10W USB-A output as well.
SWIT says both batteries will start at temperatures down to -20°C, are drop-proof to 1.2m and are compatible with Anton Bauer chargers.
Our take
With high-power lights and cinema cameras getting ever more demanding, a 210Wh battery capable of over 200W continuous draw in a body this compact is a welcome option. The D-tap charging input is a practical touch too, as it means one less charger in the kit bag on location.
