Sigma confirms prices, release dates of new Sony E-mount Art prime lenses

Sigma has announced the price tags and release dates for its new Sony E-mount versions of seven prime lenses from its Art lens range. Prices will be as followes.

• SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
  Available from June 2018. SRP: £859.99
• SIGMA 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
  Available from June 2018. SRP: £799.99
• SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
  Available from May 2018. SRP: £799.99
• SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
  Available from May 2018. SRP: £749.99
• SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
  Available from May 2018. SRP: £1,199.99
• SIGMA 135mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art
  Available from July 2018. SRP: £1,399.99

Sigma says the new Sony E-mount Art lenses will feature a newly developed control algorithm that optimises the autofocus drive and maximises the data transmission speed.

The new Art lenses will also be compatible with Sony’s Continuous AF and high-speed autofocus, which are not covered by Sigma’s MC-11 Sony E-mount converter.

They will, however (as is the MC-11) be compatible with Sony’s in-camera image stabilisation and in-camera aberration correction, which includes corrections for peripheral illumination, chromatic aberrations and distortion.
