New microSD cards deliver speed capacity and streamlined branding Extract: Samsung T7 microSD Card and T9 microSD Card launch with faster speeds, improved durability and clearer naming for users.
Samsung has announced the launch of its new T7 and T9 microSD Cards, marking a significant refresh of its removable storage lineup with a clearer naming strategy and enhanced performance tiers. The move is designed to simplify consumer choice while addressing the growing demands of photographers, videographers, and everyday users managing increasingly large volumes of data.
The T7 microSD Card is positioned as a versatile, everyday storage solution. It targets light gamers, intermediate content creators, and general users who need reliable expandable storage across multiple devices. With capacities reaching up to 1TB and read speeds of up to 170MB/s, the T7 is suited to smartphones, tablets, laptops, and handheld gaming consoles. For photographers shooting casually or managing mobile workflows, it offers a dependable balance of speed and capacity.
At the higher end, the T9 microSD Card is engineered for performance-intensive applications. With read speeds of up to 200MB/s and enhanced durability through six-proof protection, it is aimed at professional creators and enthusiasts working with large files. This makes it particularly relevant for use in drones, action cameras, and high-resolution video recording setups, where fast data transfer and reliability are essential.

The introduction of the T7 and T9 cards coincides with Samsung’s broader rebranding of its removable storage portfolio. Replacing legacy names such as EVO Plus and PRO Ultimate, the new “T” series stands for “Trustworthiness,” while the complementary “P” line represents “Peace of Mind.” This streamlined approach is intended to make product selection more intuitive, especially for users navigating different performance and capacity needs.
