Panasonic has confirmed new firmware updates for its full-frame LUMIX S1RII, S1II and S1IIE cameras, rolling out from 26 November 2025 via the LUMIX Global Customer Support website and app stores. The brand claims the updates, developed in response to user feedback, introduce refinements across performance, video functionality and workflow.

Headline changes include improved thermal control for longer and more stable recording, a new lower-speed option for SH burst and pre-burst shooting, and several autofocus upgrades such as enhanced tracking stability, main-subject recognition frame display and a rectangular AF frame for human eye detection.

For video shooters, Panasonic has added a low-bitrate MP4 (Lite) option offering 3.8K 29.97p/25p at 50Mbps, along with improved compatibility with the S-R100500 lens and STC14/STC20 teleconverters. Additional tweaks include a 1.6x Anamorphic Desqueeze Display, faster focus-stacking processing, clearer base ISO visibility when Dual Native ISO is set to Auto, and, on the S1II, the option to match live view quality between standby and recording.

The LUMIX Flow app has also been updated to Version 1.4, adding LUT live view support, multiple frame marker display and improved AF frame behaviour when using the external monitor function.
