iQOO, vivo’s performance-focused sub-brand, has confirmed that the iQOO Neo12 will launch in China on 28 October. Pre-orders are already open there.
Like the Honor Win2 and RedMagic 12 Pro+, the Neo12 is built for gaming. iQOO has confirmed a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, backed by its own Q3 gaming chip and an Ice-Dome cooling system. Most notably, there’s an active cooling fan built into the bottom corner of the square rear camera module. The display is a 2K AMOLED panel with a 185Hz refresh rate.
The design features a polished metal frame. It comes in three colours: Fierce Edge, Shadow Black and Frost Blade Blue. The Fierce Edge version has a dynamic texture on the back panel. GSMArena also reports a 9,000mAh battery.
Built-in fans have quickly become a trend among Chinese gaming phones this autumn, and it’s interesting to see one sharing space with the camera module. iQOO hasn’t revealed camera specs yet, so we’ll be watching to see whether the fan placement affects the camera hardware when full details arrive.
