OPPO is a fast-growing smartphone manufacturer, with its latest device aimed squarely at imaging professionals and enthusiasts. The OPPO Find X5 Pro features two ultra-high-resolution cameras, Hasselblad camera smarts, and its own dedicated imagine Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
The Find X5 Pro features three high-resolution cameras; the first is the 50MP Wide-Angle Camera, which features a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX 766 sensor and is fronted by an f/1.7 aperture lens. This camera offers 5-axis image stabilisation and all pixel Omni-Directional PDAF (phase-detection autofocusing).
The second camera also features a 50MP Sony IMX 766 1/1.56-inch sensor but is fronted by an f/2.2 aperture lens with a native 110.3º field of view. Again with all pixel omnidirectional PDAF.
The third camera is a 13MP telephoto camera fronted by an f/2.4 aperture lens with 5x hybrid optical zoom and 20x digital zoom.
The OPPO Find X5 Pro stands out as the first Android device to feature a dedicated imaging NPU. The MariSilicon X NPU powers the smartphone’s impressive imaging capabilities which include 20bit dynamic range, a 6-nanometer process and 18 TOPS AI computing power.
The imaging specifications are matched by a build quality that will ensure that the device will withstand the rigours of being exposed to working in the field. The phone has been built to meet IP68 water and dust resistance.
One of the OPPO Find X5’s headline features is the low light potential. The camera is capable of capturing impressive 4K Ultra Night video that the manufacturer says will bring to life the details and colour previously lost in the darkness.
Another headline feature is the Hasselblad Camera for Mobile software. This enables natural colour calibration, the ability to experience the iconic leaf shutter sound and an XPan mode.
Using the XPan mode, you can capture cinematic panoramas and vintage-style photos.
