Olympus has announced its latest Tough camera, the TG-6, with a price tag of £449.99 and a release date set for early July 2019.
The new 12-megapixel Olympus Tough TG-6 is waterproof to 15m, shockproof from 2.1m, crushproof up to 100kg, freezeproof down to -10C, dustproof and boasts a dual-plane glass construction to prevent fogging.
The Tough TG-6 fixed lens offers a 25-100mm focal range with a bright f/2 aperture. A new digital teleconverter on the TG-6 doubles the zoom factor of the 4x optical zoom for a maximum 8x zoom.
Inside the TG-6 is the same TruePic VIII image processor as in the OM-D E-M1X and an anti-reflective coating on the image sensor glass to reduce ghosting and flare.
Other features include full manual control and the ability to shoot raw files. A new range of Underwater, such as Underwater Macro, HDR, Snapshot and Microscope, optimise your settings for a range of different situations.
There is also a new advanced Variable Macro system that boasts a close focusing distance of up to 1cm and a 7x magnification. The system comprises four modes: Microscope, Microscope Control, Focus Bracketing and Focus Stacking.
