Nikon has announced the Z5, price tag £1,719 / €1,999, its new entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera boasting a 24.3-megapixel sensor and a 273-point Hybrid AF system.
Sitting below the Nikon Z6 and Z7, the Nikon Z5 offers a similar pixel count to the Z6 but features a CMOS chip compared to a back-side illuminated sensor design.
The Nikon Z5 also offers a 273-point Hybrid AF system that promises fast autofocus from all corners of the frame. The new Nikon camera also includes Nikon’s Eye-Detection AF and Animal-Detection AF modes.
Paired with Nikon’s latest EXPEED 6 processor, the Nikon Z5 offers a native sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 51,200.
There’s also a new 3690k-dot electronic viewfinder where settings like exposure, ISO and white balance are applied in real time.
Like the Z6 and Z7, the Nikon Z5 offers 5-axis in-body image stabilisation.
The Nikon Z5 can also record 4K video and offers dual UHS-II Sd card slots. Other features include built-in WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and a tilting touchscreen.
