Nikon has released new firmware that lets you use your Z6, Z7, Z50, D850, D780, D500, D7500, D5600 and the new Z5 as a webcam.
Nikon has released the new firmware in the wake of rising demand for higher spec webcams with more people working from home.
The new Nikon webcam software supports machines that run Windows 10. Users need to install Nikon’s Webcam Utility beta software to their computer a nd then connect one of the supported Nikon cameras via a USB cable.
Nikon says the software is still in the beta stage of development and more functionality may be added in future.
We expect that Nikon will also develop an Apple-friendly version as well.
