Leica Smart Projection GmbH has expanded its premium projector range with the new Leica Cine Play 1, a compact 4K mini-projector designed for a versatile home cinema experience. Announced today in Wetzlar, the Leica Cine Play 1 brings Leica’s renowned imaging quality into a sleek, portable format, allowing users to enjoy a cinema-quality experience at home or outdoors.
The Cine Play 1 combines state-of-the-art triple RGB laser technology with Leica’s high-performance Summicron zoom lens, producing bright, vivid images up to 300 inches diagonally. With 4K resolution and a brightness of up to 3000 ANSI lumens, it delivers high contrast and sharp detail, even in brightly lit environments. This high-end imaging quality is further refined by Leica’s proprietary image processing technology, Leica Image Optimization (LIOTM), which enhances colour accuracy, gradation, and contrast, providing a lifelike and immersive viewing experience.
To enhance audio performance, the Cine Play 1 includes two 15-Watt speakers with DTS Virtual
audio processing, delivering rich bass and clear sound for an impressive surround-sound effect. For users seeking even more cinematic audio, the system is compatible with external 3D surround sound setups.
Connectivity and ease of use are key features of the Cine Play 1. The projector supports Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and multiple ports, including HDMI, USB, and LAN, enabling seamless content streaming from smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Powered by the VIDAA system, users have quick access to their favourite streaming apps, while Smart Home integration and voice control add further convenience.
Weighing just a few kilograms, the Cine Play 1 is designed to be effortlessly portable, allowing users to enjoy cinema-quality projection wherever they like. Automatic alignment functions make setup easy, with the projector automatically adjusting image and focus for optimal clarity without manual intervention. This flexibility makes it suitable for both home and outdoor use, perfect for those who want to enjoy a high-quality visual experience on the go.
In terms of design, the Leica Cine Play 1 takes inspiration from the Bauhaus school, with a timeless aesthetic crafted from high-quality materials, including aluminium and a glass front. An optional Leica Floor Stand, priced separately, not only supports the projector but also complements its minimalist design. The Floor Stand includes an integrated pin contact system for a cable-free look, with power discreetly supplied through the base. This setup enhances both the projector’s visual appeal and its practicality, allowing flexible positioning for ideal viewing angles in any room.
The Leica Cine Play 1 mini-projector is available now at select Leica Stores and authorised home cinema dealers at a recommended price of £2,950 / €3,500. The Leica Floor Stand, sold separately, is priced at £335 / €395.
