Insta360 has announced two new action cameras, the Insta360 Ace and Ace Pro, price tags $379.99 and $449.99, respectively, which are powered by AI.

The Insta360 Ace Pro, co-engineered with Leica, features a 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 5nm AI chip and a Leica SUMMARIT lens. It is capable of capturing 4K video at 120fps and producing 48MP still images. What’s more, the Ace Pro offers features such as PureVideo for enhanced low light shooting and PD fast charging, which can charge the battery to 80% in just 22 minutes.

The Ace Pro distinguishes itself with its large sensor, offering enhanced light capture and dynamic range, making it suitable for fast-moving action or challenging lighting conditions. It also includes features like Active HDR and advanced colour accuracy, even underwater.

The Ace Pro also comes with a 2.4-inch flip touchscreen and a magnetic mounting system, alongside features like Clarity Zoom, Gesture Control, Cancel Recording, Pause/Resume Recording, and Photo Grab.

The more budget-friendly Insta360 Ace lacks some of the advanced features of the Ace Pro and employs a 1/2-inch 48MP sensor and standard charging.

Both Insta360 Ace models are equipped with smart shooting features powered by AI technology. These include a 2.4-inch flip touchscreen for vlogging, options to pause or cancel recordings, gesture and voice controls, and innovative editing tools like AI Highlights Assistant and AI Warp feature.

AI plays a crucial role in enhancing image quality in the Insta360 Ace cameras. Computational photography models, specifically trained for these cameras, aims to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range in low light.

The Insta360 app offers advanced AI editing tools, and the cameras integrate with Garmin devices or Apple Watch, allowing users to overlay videos with GPS and speed data. The Ace series also supports unique shooting modes like timelapses and hyperlapses.

Designed for durability and convenience, both Insta360 Ace cameras are waterproof up to 33 feet, and with an additional Dive Case, can go down to 196 feet. They also function in temperatures as low as -20°C and feature FlowState Stabilization technology for smooth footage.

The Insta360 Ace is priced at $379.99, while the Insta360 Ace Pro is priced at $449.99.

We aim to test the Insta360 Ace cameras soon. Stay tuned to find out if they qualify for our list of the best action cameras.
