Huawei boasts the top three smartphone cameras for image quality, according to DxOMark, which ranks the newly announced Huawei P30 Pro first, followed by the Mate 20 Pro and the P20 Pro.
Announced today, DxO’s intensive testing found that the P30 Pro produces superb detail, even in low light. Exposure is also rated as great in ‘very low light’ thanks to the P30 Pro’s revamped Night Mode.
DxO also rates its autofocus as fast and accurate, as well as its depth estimation. For stills photography, DxO gives the Huawei P30 Pro a staggering score of 119.
For video, the P30 Pro is rated at 97, noting its ‘very good’ stabilisation, fast and accurate AF, low noise levels and overall good exposure and colour rendering.
Overall, the Huawei P30 Pro earns a combined score of 112, placing it at the top of DxOMark’s table as the best smartphone camera for image quality on the market today.
In what must be seen as a coup for Huawei, the P30 Pro pips its sibling, the Mate 20 Pro, for the top spot. And the Mate 20 Pro usurped the P20 Pro late last year. Thus, Huawei can now claim to have the three best smartphone cameras for image quality.
