Hollyland has launched the Pyro 7, a wireless video transmitter, receiver, and 7-inch monitor in one. This new addition to the Pyro Series was first shown at the 2024 NAB show and has quickly gained interest with an impressive set of features that makes it an ideal option for small and medium-sized productions.

The Pyro 7 is designed to make video monitoring and transmission easy with an integrated display and plenty of connectivity options. While the features set, which I’ll come on to in a minute, is impressive, it’s the support for one transmitter to four receivers that really impresses, enabling integration with other Pyro products and mobile devices via the “HollyView” app.

The 7-inch monitor offers plenty of screen space so you can analyse the image quality. With a brightness of 1200 nits, it should be more than bright enough to see the screen action even in bright outdoor conditions.

If this monitor is anything like the quality of the superb Mars M1 Enhanced that we looked at a while back then this larger monitor is going to be really exciting.

Auto Dual-Band Hopping (ADH) Technology: It operates on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, ensuring optimal performance and minimal interference.

Hollyland Pyro 7

The Pyro 7 builds on the features of many other monitors and offers just that little touch more that will make it a great option for film production, live events, and various other professional video applications. Being part of the Pyro series means that it can be fully integrated with the Hollyland Pyro Series, including the Pyro S and Pyro H.

One to four transmission

As previously mentioned, it’s the one to four features of the Pyro 7’s7s that really stand out. This feature enables you to connect one transmitter to four receivers simultaneously, essentially enabling multiple crew members to monitor live video feeds, which will help improve set coordination. To ensure that the Hollyland Pyro Series always has a clear signal and doesn’t interfere with other production equipment, the Pyro 7 features Auto Dual-Band Hopping technology.

Part of the Hollyland Pyro Family

As part of the Pyro Series, it’s fully compatible with the Pyro 7, Pyro S, and Pyro H. The Pyro H, with HDMI input and loopout, and the Pyro S, featuring both HDMI and SDI ports, each cater to different professional setups, and here, the Pyro 7 is designed to work with either.
