The biannual Hasselblad Masters competition, revered as one of the most esteemed awards in the photography world, has now reached a critical phase where public and expert votes are solicited to determine the 2023 winners. This year’s competition has seen a remarkable 35% increase in submissions from the last cycle in 2021, receiving a record 85,000 images. This surge in entries highlights the award’s escalating prominence within the professional photography community.

Submissions span a diverse range of categories, including Landscape, Architecture, Portrait, Art, Street, and a special category for emerging talents, Project//21. The Hasselblad Internal Jury, consisting of company experts well-versed in photography, has selected 60 finalists, identifying the top 10 photographers in each category.

The public now has the opportunity to influence the outcome of this prestigious competition by voting for their preferred images in each category. This public input is highly significant as it will represent the ninth seat on the Hasselblad Grand Jury, which includes eight other esteemed members: renowned photographers, industry editors, experts, and past competition winners.

The stakes are high for the finalists: each category winner will be awarded a Hasselblad 100-megapixel mirrorless medium format camera, two XCD Series lenses, and a creative fund of EUR 5,000. Additionally, winners will participate in a collaborative project with Hasselblad and have their work featured in the commemorative Hasselblad Masters book and across all Hasselblad digital platforms.

To cast your vote, register for a free My Hasselblad account on the Hasselblad website. Voting is open until June 1, 2024, and the winners will be announced on June 26, 2024.
