Fujifilm has announced a new firmware update for the medium format GFX 50S that adds compatibility for the new Fujinon GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR lens announced today, along with flicker reduction and a number of other usability improvements.
The official launch confirms details of sweeping, new firmware updates spanning nearly the entire Fujifilm range of cameras, which leaked earlier this week.
Fuji GFX 50S firmware version 3.10 will add compatibility for the new Fujinon GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR’s advanced features, such as “Focus Preset”, “AF-L” and “AF-ON”.
The new firmware will also enable users to reduce flicker in images and displays when shooting under fluorescent lighting and other similar light sources.
Other additions in Fuji GFX 50S firmware version 3.10 include:
- Addition of “Select Folder” and “Create Folder”
Enables users to choose the folder in which subsequent pictures will be stored. Users will also be able to enter a five-character folder name to create a new folder in which to store subsequent pictures. - New enlarged and customizable indicators: “Large Indicators Mode”
The upgrade allows users to enlarge indicators and information in the viewfinder and/or LCD monitor. This upgrade will also enable users to customize the location of where the information is shown on the display. - Addition of Fn button support for “35mm Format Mode”
The upgrade allows users to set the Fn button as “35mm Format Mode” for quicker setting changes.
The GFX 50S firmware update will be free to download and available from May 2018.
