Fujifilm has announced the Fujinon XF23mm F1.4 R LM WR, price tag £819 / $899, a new compact, lightweight wide-angle prime for use with its X series cameras.
The new Fujinon XF23mm F1.4 R LM WR weighs just 375g and measures 77.8mm long and is what Fujifilm is calling a new generation of prime lens designed to support future camera sensors of even greater resolution.
The 23mm focal length (35mm lens equivalent) will appeal to a wide range of photography styles, and its fast f/1.4 aperture will allow for smooth bokeh and shallow depth of field effects.
The new Fujifilm lens consists of 15 elements in 10 groups, including two aspherical elements and three ED elements. Inside there is also a linear motor that enables the AF system to perform silently and accurately.
The Fujinon XF23mm F1.4 R LM WR lens barrel is weather-sealed in 11 locations and can be used in rain and conditions as low as -10C. Other features include an improved focus ring, an A (auto) Position Lock and a filter thread of 58mm.
The Fujinon XF23mm F1.4 R LM WR release date is set for November 2021.
Will this be smaller than existing 23 mm 1.4?
