Fujifilm has announced the GFX100S, price tag £5,499, the latest version of its 102-megapixel mirrorless medium format camera.
Building on the Fujifilm GFX100, the new GFX100S promises a smaller, more portable design, weighing just 900g. This is similar in size to many full-frame cameras, yet houses Fujifilm’s 102-megapixel sensor.
Yet for a medium format camera, the GFX100S is 20% smaller and 10% lighter than its predecessor.
And despite the size reduction, the Fujifilm GFX100S adds five-axis in-body image stabilisation that provides up to six stops of stabilisation.
The GFX100S’ sensor is paired with Fujifilm’s quad-core X-Processor 4 CPU, and it’s phase detection AF system covers nearly 100% of the sensor and can acquire focus in just 018 secs in light levels as low as -5.5EV.
Other features include a magnesium alloy body design, 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD and 1.8-inch LCD on the top plate.
Video-wise, the Fujifilm GFX100S can record 4K footage at 30p at bit rates of 400Mbps, from 10-bit 4:2:0 F-log internally to an SD card to 12-bit 4:2:2 ProRes RAW through the camera’s HDMI port.
As well as recording 4K video in 16:9, the Fujifilm GFX100S also supports a 17:9 aspect ratio.
