Fujifilm has announced the Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR, price tag £2,099, the world’s first f/1.7 lens with AF for a large format system.
The Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR is the fastest among Fujifilm’s G mount lenses and is the 35mm equivalent of 63mm.
The Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR is comprised of 12 elements in nine groups, including one aspherical element and two Super ED elements.
The new Fujifilm GF lens also supports Face and Eye AF and retains focus even when the subject is moving within the frame.
Fujifilm says the Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR also brings a half-stop improvement to the GFX100’s AF scene luminance limit, meaning the GFX100’s AF is now capable at light levels down to -5.5EV.
Size-wise, the compact Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR weighs just 795g and measures 99.2mm long. Its body has also been weather-sealed in 10 places to protect against dust and water.
The Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR release date will be 4 March.
