Fujifilm has set its sights on becoming the number one brand in the premium mirrorless camera market by 2019, according to company strategy documents.
Fuji released its Medium-Term Management Plan in a document called VISION2019 in which it makes the bold statement that it intends to capture the top spot in the market for premium compact system cameras in the next two years.
Fuji says it plans to do this by promoting its X Series cameras’s ability to produce outstanding image quality while being both fast and portable, and by positioning the medium format Fuji GFX system as the pinnacle of image quality.
Fuji says it will also expand its lens business by developing more 4K broadcast lenses “launched ahead of the rest of the world, as well as the lineup of lenses for the fast-growing new video production market, including online video.”
