A storage revolution has been happening in recent times as the development of SSD Nvme drives’ means that fast large-capacity storage is becoming a reality.

Now WD has announced large capacity updates to four ranges, SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable, Extreme Portable, Extreme and WD Black P50 Game. 

These four new storage solutions mark the start of large capacity revolution in the portable storage sector. Let’s take a closer look at what each of these 4TB drives has to offer. 

SanDisk Extreme Pro® Portable SSD 

Featuring ultra-fast NVMe technology, this portable solution offers maximum transfer speeds of up to 2000MB/s read and write. 

An aluminium designed case ensures even heat distribution to help maintain the fast speeds, making it an ideal solution for on the move 4K video editing. 

The 4TB SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD  will be available soon estimated cost is £857.99 

SanDisk Extreme® Portable SSD 

Again featuring the latest NVMe technology, this extreme drive offers transfer speeds of up to 1050MB/s. This is more than enough for optimised 4K video editing and 1080p. 

What marks this drive out is the durability with IP55 water and dust resistance and drop-proof up to 2 meters. 

The 4TB SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD will be available soon and is estimated at £745.99 

WD_Black® P50 Game Drive SSD 

Designed primarily for the gaming community this drive again packs in next-generation performance with transfer speeds up to 2000MB/s. 

The WD_Black P50 Game Drive SSD will be available soon and is estimated at £750.99 

My Passport® SSD from WD® 

Who hasn’t owned a My Passport portable SSD? This latest large capacity version features a durable metal design. 

Ideal for photographers and videographers on the move it is drop-resistant up to 1.98m and, most importantly, available in a range of colours. 

As with the other updates the My Passport features an NVMe drive this time offering a maximum transfer speed of 1050MB/s.

The 4TB My Passport SSD will be on sale soon for an estimated £745.99
