DxOMark will be increasing the number of tests it performs on smartphone cameras to include bokeh, zoom and more.

In conjunction with a major update to its website, DxOMark says it is expanding its mobile test suite to account for new features and technologies that have emerged in the new generation of smartphones.

Chief among the new smartphone tests will be a new Zoom sub-score based on testing the camera at multiple focal lengths.

DxOMark will also add another Bokeh sub-score using a scene it says will be carefully designed to allow comparisons.

Other tests will include a Low-light analysis down to 1 Lux, Motion and an expanded portfolio of lab and outdoor test scenes.

What’s more, DxOMark says it has re-tested a number of key smartphone with the new criteria, including the iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC U11, Google Pixel, Nokia 808 and iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
