DJI has announced the launch of the Ronin 4D-8K. This new addition to the Ronin 4D professional cinema camera platform is not just an upgrade; it’s a complete reimagining of what a cinema camera can be.
The Ronin 4D-8K merges DJI’s advanced stabilisation technology with 8K cinematic capabilities. Paul Pan, DJI’s Senior Product Line Manager, expressed excitement about the launch, emphasising DJI’s commitment to empowering creators with state-of-the-art imaging solutions.
The Ronin 4D-8K offers an impressive array of features including full-frame 8K/60fps and 4K/120fps video recording, ensuring exceptional image quality in a variety of shooting scenarios. The camera’s 800/4000 Dual-Native ISO and a maximum 14.7 stops of dynamic range guarantee cinematic depth and vibrant color grades. Furthermore, the built-in 9-stop physical ND filters, interchangeable lens mounts, and advanced autofocus capabilities, including Automated Manual Focus (AMF), add to its versatility.
The Ronin 4D-8K also introduces DJI Cinema Colour Science(DCCS), delivering natural skin tones and vivid colours, even in challenging lighting conditions. This is further enhanced by the CineCore image processing platform, supporting high-quality codecs like Apple ProRes RAW and ProRes 422 HQ. The integration of the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) ensures a consistent color journey from capture to final screening.
