Canon has filed a patent for what appears to be a VR camera based on its full-frame mirrorless EOS R cameras.
The new Canon patent was filed in Japan and outlines the optical construction for what would be a full-frame mirrorless camera with dual lenses.
The Canon patent outlines the following possible specifications:
- Focal length: vertical 7.44 mm, horizontal 5,57 mm
- F number: 4.00, 2.81
- Half angle of view: 90, 90
- Image height: 11,75 mm, 8.75 mm
- Lens length: 100.00 mm
- Back focus: 15.92 mm
Of course, it’s worth remembering that camera manufacturers file lots of patents, most of which never see the light of day.
But this is certainly an intriguing option to make a note of for the future.
