Canon has taken the lead in Japan for mirrorless camera sales, overtaking Olympus, according to new data.
Canon has climbed to the top spot with a 30.1% marketshare, according to a new report from BCN Ranking. Olympus was previously the market leader for mirrorless cameras in Japan with a 27.7% share in 2017.
The report also shows Canon leading the DSLR market with 58.9% share, while Nikon is top for fixed-lens cameras at 31%.
In other categories, Panasonic leads the video camera segment with 44.1% marketshare, while GoPro is the No. 1 action camera maker by some margin, claiming 72.9% marketshare in Japan.
