Canon has announced the imagePROGRAF PRO-300, price tag £699.99 / €799.99, a new professional A3+ printer that promises gallery-quality prints in a smaller, compact form.
The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 replaces the PIXMA PRO-10S and makes the jump up to Canon’s imagePROGRAF PRO series of printers. Among its key features are borderless printing and improved deep black density and colour vibrancy across a range of media types.
The imagePROGRAF PRO-300 uses LUCIA PRO pigment inks for a wider colour gamut and deeper blacks.
Canon’s L-COA PRO processor processes image data at faster speeds, Canon says, and can better calculate the best ink droplet layout, and faster.
Canon says the new processor helps the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 achieve A3 prints in less than five minutes.
If paper is not aligned correctly when fed through the imagePROGRAF PRO-300, the Auto Skew Correction function corrects and feeds the paper through to ensure a level print.
What’s more, the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 checks the density levels of ink tanks, and periodically shakes the cartridges to maintain constant ink density levels throughout each tank.
Other features include a 3-inch colour LCD, and functions such as DPRAW Print and HDR Print can read the RAW image data from EOS cameras.
