Canon has announced the EOS M6 Mark II, price tag £869.99 / €1,029.99, a new APS-C format mirrorless camera built for speed.

Boasting a new 32.5-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor coupled with Canon’s DIGIC 8 processor, the EOS M6 Mark II is capable of shooting 14fps in its burst mode as well as 30fps raw bursts with AF tracking.

Aimed at wildlife and sports photographers, the new Canon mirrorless camera supports UHS-II SD cards with a burst rate of 80 L JPEG.

Improving on the EOS M6, Canon says the new EOS M6 Mark II can focus at -5EV when used with lenses with an f/1.4 or larger aperture, meaning the camera should be quite capable in low light settings.

Like the Canon EOS 90D also launched today (with which it shares the same sensor), the EOS M6 Mark II can record 4K video and Full HD at up to 120fps for slow motion videos. You can see the full video specs and frame rates available in the table below.

Again, like the EOS 90D, the EOS M6 Mark II shares Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, which is available in both Full HD and 4K video modes, as well as eye tracking AF.
