Bowens has launched at Photokina 2016 a new flash range called Generation X, which is comprised of two new flash systems: Bowens XMT and XMS.
The Bowens XMT flash system is an all-in-one battery unit aimed at location lighting, while the Bowens XMS flash system is designed with studio photographers in mind who need a wider range of functions.
The Bowen 500Ws XMT is compatible with Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras and offers TTL and high speed sync functionality (up to 1/8000sec).
Other features of the XMT include 9-stops of flash power adjustment, flash durations as short as 1/10309sec and recycle times as fast as 0.01sec.

The Bowens XMT is powered by a lithium-ion battery that lasts for up to 500 full power flashes per charge, Bowens says, while rear curtain sync, sync delay and strobe modes allow for a range of different set-ups for photographers on the move.
The Bowens XMS flash system is available in 500,750 and 1000Ws models, which are all controlled via the XMSR 2.4 Ghz radio control and trigger and feature multi-voltage operation.
Bowen says the units promise faster recycling times and flash durations. What’s more, they offer Bowens’ ‘Sync Offset’ functionality that enables any make of camera to shoot at high sync speeds of up to 1/8000sec.
The Bowens XMS price tag ranges from: XMS 500: £799, XMS 750: £899, XMS 1000: £999. The Bowens XMT price tag will be £1,199 for the XMT 500Ws.
