Atomos has expanded its ecosystem of professional filmmaking tools with the launch of StudioSonic, a new set of professional-grade wired over-ear headphones engineered for audio accuracy across all stages of video and audio production. Unveiled at NAB Show 2025 in Las Vegas, the StudioSonic headphones are designed to meet the demands of filmmakers, engineers, editors, DJs, and content creators who require reliable, reference-grade sound.

At the heart of StudioSonic are large 50mm high-resolution drivers that deliver a transparent audio experience with no artificial enhancements. The ultra-wide frequency response, stretching from 10Hz to 40kHz, ensures full-spectrum clarity—from sub-bass rumbles to sparkling treble. This precision allows users to detect subtle details in dialogue, music, and environmental sounds, making them ideal for tasks such as dialogue editing, mix refinement, and mastering.

“StudioSonic gives professionals the clarity and reliability they need across every stage of production—whether it’s on set, in the studio, or on the move,” said Peter Barber, Chief Operating Officer at Atomos. The headphones feature 105dB sensitivity and a 30Ω impedance, making them well-suited for use with a wide range of gear—from monitor-recorders like the Atomos Ninja and Shogun, to DJ controllers, field recorders, and mobile devices.

Built for long sessions and rugged environments, the StudioSonic headphones combine a durable reinforced plastic and metal frame with ultra-soft memory foam earpads and an adjustable padded headband. The closed-back, over-ear design provides passive noise isolation for focused monitoring in noisy settings.

StudioSonic also features a 180° swivel on the earcups for one-ear monitoring—essential for live use and quick audio referencing. A detachable 2-metre coiled cable prevents tangling, while dual 3.5mm and 6.3mm jack plugs ensure universal compatibility straight out of the box.

Positioned as a central audio tool in Atomos’ expanding creative workflow ecosystem, StudioSonic headphones offer professionals a trusted monitoring solution across all stages of production, and are a natural complement to Atomos’ line-up of visual and audio tools.
