GoPro has announced that its MISSION 1 series has earned 11 awards from technology, photography and outdoor publications since launch. The MISSION 1 PRO accounts for most of them, while the MISSION 1 PRO ILS – GoPro’s first interchangeable-lens camera – and the standard MISSION 1 also feature.

The announcement, made on 24 September, follows the three awards the series picked up at NAB Show 2026 earlier in the year.

The 11 awards

“We built the MISSION 1 Series because our customers kept asking us for more performance from their GoPros,” said Pablo Lema, Senior Vice President of Product Management at GoPro.

The MISSION 1 line-up

The series now spans six options: the MISSION 1, MISSION 1 PRO, MISSION 1 PRO Grip Edition, MISSION 1 PRO Creator Edition, MISSION 1 PRO Ultimate Creator Edition and the MISSION 1 PRO ILS. GoPro also lists a range of accessories including the Media Mod, Wireless Mic System, Volta 2 Battery Grip, Protective Housing and Point-and-Shoot Grip, along with the MISSION Monitor app for iOS.

Our take

It’s notable that the awards span mainstream tech titles, photography publications and a surf magazine, which reflects how broad the MISSION 1 series’ appeal is intended to be. Recognition for the MISSION 1 PRO ILS from SlashGear and TechRadar suggests GoPro’s move into interchangeable lenses is being taken seriously.
