Canon looks to be lining up a substantial end to 2026. Reports now point to an EOS R6 Mark IV, an EOS R7 Mark II and a 300-600mm zoom arriving in November, which would follow an already busy autumn schedule.
The R7 Mark II is the one that will raise eyebrows, because Canon Rumors was until recently confident that no R7 Mark II would ship in 2026 at all. Rumour timelines shift, but a direct contradiction of a previously confident report is worth flagging rather than glossing over. APS-C shooters have waited a long time for a successor to the R7, and it remains one of the more requested cameras in Canon’s line-up.
An R6 Mark IV so soon after the EOS R6 Mark III — which only launched in November 2025 — would be an unusually quick turn, and we’d treat that one with particular caution. It’s also worth noting Canon has just released the EOS R6 V, a video-focused variant, so the R6 line is already more crowded than it was.
The 300-600mm is the most intriguing item. Canon Rumors has separately expressed confidence that a lens is coming to sit between the RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L and the RF 100-300mm f/2.8L on price, and a 300-600mm would fit that gap neatly. For wildlife and sports photographers, a zoom reaching 600mm without flagship prime money would be a significant addition.
Two more Canon threads are running alongside. An RF 24-70mm f/2L is rumoured for August or September, which would merge Canon’s flagship standard zooms into a single faster optic, and a Cinema EOS announcement is expected in September, though no one seems to know what form it will take. There’s also the widely reported retro-styled EOS R8 Mark II, now tipped for early September.
Taken together, that’s a lot of Canon between now and Christmas — and after a fairly quiet first half across the whole industry, it would be welcome. As always, though, treat the November items as the least firm: the further out a rumour sits, the more it tends to move.
