3 Legged Thing has announced the Nicky and Tommy, the latest tripods in its Legends range, which can support payloads up to 60kg.

The new 3 Legged Thing hybrid tripods also feature a 75mm bowl mount for videographers. The 3LT Nicky is a four-section carbon fibre tripod that extends to 1.56m and reduces to as low as 12.4cm tall.

The 3LT Tommy is a three-section carbon fibre tripod with 35mm tubing that extends to 1.62m and folds down to 73cm.

Both new 3 Legged Thing tripods have three detachable legs and come with a flat plate with a 3/8”-16 thread for mounting standard AirHed or video heads.

3 Legged Thing says it has also improved the cables and tubing in its new Nicky and Tommy tripods to help support the 60kg payload. Channels for cables have been machined into the canopy, along with a quarter-inch accessory thread for monitors and other devices.

Both the 3LT Nicky and Tommy come with a Nylon carry case, which has pockets for extra plates.
