Godox has been on something of a run this year — its first camera in July, a portable photo printer this month — and now it has turned back to what it actually built its name on. The new LT1 is a creative pixel light, joining an expanded LITEMONS full-colour LED range. Both are listed on the official Godox new products page.
The LT1: pixels rather than a panel
The LT1 sits in a category that has grown quickly over the past couple of years: the pixel light. Rather than emitting a single uniform colour like a conventional LED panel, a pixel light contains individually addressable LEDs, so different parts of the same fixture can show different colours at once — and can be animated.
Godox’s tagline for it, “play in pixels, control your lights”, tells you the intent. For video creators and portrait photographers building stylised backgrounds, that means effects a normal panel simply cannot produce: gradients across a single tube, running colour patterns, or a fixture that shifts through a sequence during a take. It is the sort of tool that has moved from music video sets into everyday content production remarkably fast.
It is a continuous light rather than a flash, so it suits video, streaming and mixed stills-and-video work.
LITEMONS full-colour LEDs
Alongside it, Godox has expanded the LITEMONS line with new full-colour LED lights. LITEMONS has been Godox’s more affordable range, and full-colour — RGB rather than bi-colour — brings creative colour work to a lower price point than the KNOWLED professional fixtures we looked at earlier this year.
That progression is worth noting. Godox’s strategy has consistently been to take a feature from the professional end and push it down the range until it appears on kit costing a fraction of the original. Full-colour control started as a premium feature; it is now close to standard.
What we would want to know
Godox has not published full specifications for the LT1 at the time of writing — no output figures, colour temperature range, CRI or TLCI ratings, battery life or dimensions. For a pixel light in particular, the numbers that matter are the pixel count and the control options: a fixture with a handful of addressable zones behaves very differently from one with genuinely fine-grained control, and app or DMX control determines whether it is usable on a professional set.
