Zeiss has officially announced the long-rumoured Otus 1.4/100 lens for full-frame Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras.

The new Otus 1.4/100 is the first telephoto focal length Zeiss has added to its Otus line and is aimed at portrait and product photographers.

Among its features are an f/1.4 to f/16 aperture range and a construction consisting of 14 elements in 11 groups. Other features include Zeiss’s T* anti-reflective coating, an 86mm filter diameter.

The Zeiss Otus lens series was developed for professional photographers and launched back in 2013 with the Otus 1.4/55, followed by the Otus 1.4/85 and Otus 1.4/28.

The Zeiss Otus 1.4/100 price tag will be €4,500 / $4500 and is available for purchase now.
