Zeiss launches new range of Supreme Prime cinema lenses

Zeiss has announced a new range of 13 Supreme Prime cinema lenses that promise ‘maximum quality’ in a lightweight, portable design.

Designed for high-end film productions, the Zeiss Supreme Prime range consists of 13 fixed-focal length lenses ranging in focal length from 15mm to 200mm.

The first ZEISS Supreme Primes lenses with focal lengths of 25mm, 29mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm will be available starting on August 1. The ZEISS Supreme Prime 100mm will be available in December 2018. The remaining focal lengths will be released between December up until 2020.

Most of the Zeiss Supreme Prime lenses offer a maximum aperture of T1.5 and are designed to cover cinematic large format camera sensors and are compatible with all of the latest camera models, such as the Sony Venice, ARRI Alexa LF, and RED Monstro.

The Zeiss Supreme Prime lenses weigh on average 1600g each.
