Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has launched a new Mija-branded gimbal for smartphone videographers that provides 3-axis stabilisation and is priced at less than $100.

Xiaomi’s Mija brand already offers a gimbal for action cameras, and the new Mija smartphone gimbal can house phones weighing up to 200g and measuring 86mm wide.

So it will accommodate larger smartphones such as the Huawei P20 Pro or Google Pixel 2 XL.

The Xiaomi Mija gimbal’s built-in 5000 mAh battery lasts up to 16 hours. The gimbal can also charge your phone while in use, which will reduce the gimbal’s battery life.

The Mija smartphone gimbal weighs 476g and also comes with a companion app that allows you to set functions such as 360-degree auto-tracking and time-lapses.

Xiaomi has given no word yet on a release date, but the Mija smartphone gimbal will be priced around $95 upon its launch.
