Wix unveils new Pro Gallery, Conde Nast competition
News

Wix, the cloud-based web development platform, has announced new Wix Pro Gallery functionality, allowing photographers to create online portfolios on their websites.

Wix Pro Gallery allows photographers to showcase still images, videos and text all in one gallery on their website in a format that is optimised for mobile devices.

Wix says the new Pro Gallery also protects images from right-click downloads and offers functionality to enable easy sharing to social media.

Videos can also be set to autoplay and include text boxes overlayed.

To help promote its new platform and community of photographers, Wix has also partnered with global publisher Condé Nast to launch a new photo competition.

The winners will get the opportunity to shoot the cover of the magazines BRIDES or Condé Nast Traveler, or assist on a Vanity Fair cover shoot.

To enter, photographers can submit their free Wix portfolio website for the chance to have their work reviewed by Condé Nast creative directors and photo editors, including Susan White, photography director at Vanity Fair, Jenifer Walter, creative director at BRIDES, and Yolanda Edwards, creative director at Condé Nast Traveler.

Entrants should go to Wix.com/LookStunning to submit their portfolios by Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

Once the call for submissions is closed, editors from each magazine will review all entries, and three Wix users will be chosen, one photographer for each brand. The winners will be sent on a trip to the shoot location and will have their story featured in the magazine.

The judges review and selection will be broadcast on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
