Organisers of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition have launched a People’s Choice Award, offering nature photography fans the opportunity to select their favourite images from the competition.

The new annual award will allow fans from around the world to choose their favourite from 24 images, which are pre-selected by judges from the competition.

The top five images as chosen by the public for the People’s Choice Award will be displayed on the Wildlife Photographer of the Year website, where they will sit alongside the 100-plus winners chosen by the competition’s judging panel.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition averages nearly 50,000 submission from 92 countries around the world.

Shortlisted images are currently on display at the highly-acclaimed Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London, until the vote closes on 5 February 2018. The winner of the vote will then be showcased until the exhibition closes on 28 May 2018.
