Wex Photographic has announced the winners of its annual Wex Photographer of the Year competition.

The awards are the results of a year of the retailer’s weekly #WexMondays contests, and the winning photographs will be on display at London’s Truman Brewery from today until 23 January 2017.

The Wex Photographer of the Year for 2016 is Neil Burnell, from South West England. A first-time entrant, four of Neil’s images made the cut and will be display in the exhibition.

Neil will take home £1,500 worth of Wex vouchers to use on new gear.

The second place winner is Tony Sellen, from London, who shoots on a Nikon D600 and D7000, while third place goes to Tom Lowe, from Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear, who uses a Canon EOS 6D and a GoPro.

Now in its fourth year, the competition received more than 17,000 entries in 2016. Each week, photographers enter their best shot from the previous seven days, using the #WexMondays hashtag on Twitter.

The best of the week are selected and awarded points by Wex Photographic’s judging team, and images go into a league table, which is scored and ranked at the end of the year.

The images on display at the exhibition represent Wex’s winners from all 51 weeks of the 2016 competition.
