If the price of the GoPro Omni has put you off, the new WetHot360 camera rig – priced $295 – could be what you’re looking for.

The WetHot360 employs six GoPro Hero5 Session or Hero4 Session cameras to produce 8K 360-degree videos (note: only the Hero5 can produce 8K resolution; the Hero4 Session can produce 5.7K videos).

Waterproof and submersible down to 10 metres, the WetHot360 can be assembled in 30secs, the company says. It also allows access to the Session cameras’ charging ports, microSD cards and displays.

Other features include a 1/4-20 standard tripod mount and compatibility with the GoPro remote so that you can sync all six Hero Session cameras for simultaneous starting and stopping.
