Western Digital has announced what it’s calling the world’s fastest UHS-I microSDXC card, introducing the SanDisk Extreme 1TB with a price tag set for $449.99.

The new SanDisk Extreme 1TB microSDXC card delivers read speeds at up to 160MB/s, which does make it the fastest on the market.

However, when compared to the new microSD Express format announced yesterday, offering transfer speeds of 950MB/s, the SanDisk Extreme’s time at the top of the speed charts probably won’t be long.

SanDisk is also releasing a 512GB version of the Extreme microSDXC card priced at $199.99. Both cards will be available for purchase beginning in April.
