Western Digital has introduced a new range of personal data storage solutions, including a 4TB flash drive, a new cloud service, a portable 1TB SSD and another SSD aimed at professionals promising up to 1GB/s transfer speeds.

Perhaps most striking among its new quartet of storage options is the SanDisk 4TB USB-C, which promises to be ‘the world’s highest-capacity portable flash drive.’

Announced as a development project, the SanDisk 4TB USB-C is currently just a prototype, but we can probably expect an official launch later this year.

The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD is aimed at professional users and promises transfer speeds up to 1GB/s and offers both USB Type C and Type A connectors. The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD will offer storage in capacities up to 2TB.

The My Passport Go is another portable SSD that will offer storage in capacities up to 1TB in a more rugged design. The My Passport Go will feature a rubber casing with an integrated cable and is designed for use on the go.

Finally, WD has also announced SanDisk Flashback, a new cloud back-up service designed for use with the company’s USB drives. Flashback lets you access your stored content if you are travelling or if you have lost your drive. A launch date will be announced soon.
