DJI finally announced price and specs information for its Ronin-S three-axis gimbal this week, which is designed for use with DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
There’s been huge interest in the Ronin-S since it was announced as a development project earlier this year. And one of the long-standing questions filmmakers have wanted to know is, will the focus wheel on the Ronin-S control lenses with internal focus motor.
Photographer Paul Pan posted this short clip demonstrating how it works on his Panasonic GH5.
For those who use a Panasonic GH5 or GH5S, the DJI Ronin-S can start and stop both video and still photo capture. The Ronin-S can also pull focus with the following lenses:
- H-E08018GK – Leica 8-18mm
- H-HSA35100GK – 35-100mm II
- H-HSA12035GK – 12-35mm II
