Venus Optics has announced the Laowa Argus 35mm f/095 FF, price tag $899, which it’s calling the world’s fastest 35mm and widest f/0.95 lens.
The new Laowa Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF provides a 63.4-degree angle of view, and the ultra-wide aperture offers plenty of bokeh and shallow depth of field effects. The aperture range runs from f/0.95 through f/16 and provides a minimum focusing distance of 50cm.
The Laowa Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF lens is comprised of 14 elements in nine groups. Of these elements there is one ED glass element, one aspherical lens element and four high-refractive index glass materials.
An internal focusing design helps maximise optical performance, as well as preventing dust from getting into the lens, and the Laowa Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF also offers minimal focus breathing.
The new Laowa Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF is available in Canon RF, Nikon Z and Sony FE mounts and can be purchased from Venus Optics’ website or authorised retailers.
